STAN WEBB'S CHICKEN SHACK

+ MICK CLARKE BAND

RHYTHM @ The Legendary 100 Club

LONDON: RHYTHM @ The Legendary 100 Club

FRI 16TH JAN, 2009 7.30pm-12 midnight

This sensational double bill featuring two of Britain's best and most underrated blues guitar heroes. Stan Webb has steered Chicken Shack through almost 40 years of rock history, being cited as a particular favourite and/or influence on the likes of Eric Clapton, John Mayall and Jon Spencer. They had a worldwide hit with the single 'I'd Rather Go Blind' in 1969 and were hailed as one of the great bands of the 1960s and early 70s, experiencing a huge revival in recent years. Rip roaring rock blues from Clarke, who commutes between the West Coast of USA and UK. Lead guitarist with Killing Floor, Salt and Daddy Longlegs, Mick is a fiery player who eschews effects and plays "straight from the wood". The closest you'll get to experiencing the blues-rock power of the late, great, Rory Gallagher (a personal friend).
