Last year composer Nigel Osborne and London Sinfonietta musicians went to Lake Victoria, Uganda, to sample Rock Gongs (natural formations that make tuned pitches when struck). They then used these sounds back in Kampala to make music with local musicians.

These musicians are coming to Sheffield to perform this concert and workshop, which will feature Nigel Osborne's commission, 'Rock Music'.
